LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Calabasas, CA. This role works in a high volume, production based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.
Pay Range: Base: $18 - $21
Schedule: 1st shift. Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Position Summary:
Performs tasks associated with specimen management including receiving samples, loading and unloading automation, and storage.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assists with loading and unloading of specimens on the Hamilton pipetting instruments including capping and uncapping samples, labeling aliquot tubes, pulling errors, and sorting aliquots.

Performs maintenance of laboratory instruments.

Sorts specimens into appropriate station for manual pipetting.

Returns specimens to appropriate locations.

Performs discard and relocation of specimen racks.

Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.

Documents all quality assurance activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.

Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job-related duties requested by department management.

High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Work Experience:
No experience required. Training occurs on-site.
Physical Demands:
Requires utilization of fingers and hands, standing-remaining on one’s feet in an upright position, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling. Requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Working Conditions:
There is regular exposure to potential blood-borne pathogens.
