Skills & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- On-call schedule management
- Staff support and clinical tasks as delegated by the DON
- Assists in the responsibility for the total patient care within the nursing unit, and the management of the unit.
- Provides direct nursing care to the patients
- Carries out administrative and patient care duties as directed by the DON
- Supervises and assumes responsibility for the actions and care delivered by the nurse associates including monitoring and responding to all policies and procedures regarding such duties.
- Administers medication and treatment per the Physician orders specific to the patient.
- Instructs and observes care is implemented per the physician/clinician or based on standard of practice
- Assist and direct in the admission/discharge process of patients
- STNA/Nurse scheduling
- Care Planning
- Assessments
- Working alongside the current nursing department to learn the facility residents and care routines.
- Covering shifts as needed
Requirements for the position include:
- Nursing home experience (preferred but not required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio and in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
- Must be familiar with and be able to follow all established Federal, State and Local rules, regulations and guidelines.
- Must understand and be able to implement and follow facility policy/procedure.
- Experience working with cognitive deficit and behavioral health care (plus).
