Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation and ensuring that all food items are prepared according to our recipes and quality standards. Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Assist in cooking and plating dishes according to the menu specifications and to all recipe standards
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure the highest level of food quality and sanitation
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service hours
- Maintain a clean and organized work station
- Assist in menu planning and recipe development as needed
- Adhere to dietary restrictions and special requests from customers
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
Note for Line Cooks:
Reinforce standard operating procedures for kitchen organization, work flow processes and culinary practices, providing staff training and ensuring compliance to achieve consistent application and maximize productivity.
Ensure product quality by personally participating in and performing daily sampling and quality testing and ensuring adherence to all recipe standards.
Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a restaurant or food service establishment
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- Familiarity with culinary terminology and industry best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
