We are looking for a long term Veterinary Receptionist. Reception background preferred, but not required. Work history in the veterinary field is a plus but not required. This will be a Full-time position averaging 40 hours a week and you can not be in school or planning to attend in the future. You’ll play an important role in bringing comfort to our clients and patients and ensuring the smooth running of our facility. You need to be organized, a quick learner and be able to multitask in a timely manner. We will train you in the knowledge of routine tasks, like vaccines, blood work and medications. We are looking for someone reliable, punctual (have dependable transportation), friendly and outgoing (in person and on the phone). There will be a 90 day probationary period to determine if employee and job are a good fit.
Responsibilities
- Greet and communicate clients warmly & acknowledge their presence as they enter the building
- Answer multiple phone lines and manage your time accordingly on the phone
- Understand different types of appointments, scheduling surgeries and appointments
- Learn the amount of time needed for different appointments
- Review and prepare records to determine appropriate vaccines/tests
- Which forms may be required and prepare them for clients signature (surgical permission, boarding, euthanasia forms etc...)
- Create new files/records for new and current clients and their pet(s), both physical and in the computer
- Pulling and filing records
- Create/begin invoices in the computer
- Handle transactions, payments, checks, cash and credit cards
- Sending and receiving faxes and emails
- call clients back to check on pets
- Perform end of day totals of transactions
- Communicate effectively between doctors and clients both verbally and written
- Learn and promote tests and the products we have available
Skills
- At least 1 year experience as a receptionist (preferred)
- Some history in the veterinary field a plus but not required
- Self Starter and multi-tasker
- Team Player
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and caring personality
- Ability to follow instructions properly

Pay: $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 41 per week
