General Purpose: To maintain the cleanliness of the public areas, which include main and rear lobbies, all elevators, public restrooms, Banquets/Convention area corridors and hotel offices while providing excellent customer service.
HOURS: 8pm-1am / 11pm-7am
WE are looking for part-time & full-time.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleans, sweeps, mops, polishes, vacuums and dusts all public areas, Banquets/Convention corridors, elevators and main and rear lobbies.
- Cleans, sweeps and empties trash receptacles at all guest entrances.
- Cleans windows and glass doors at hotel entrances on a daily basis.
- Cleans, polishes and disinfects all public and employee restrooms.
- Cleans and checks restrooms on a regular basis to maintain cleanliness and maintain adequate supplies of paper and soap products.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderly condition of pool area by sweeping, emptying trash receptacles and ashtrays, straightening chairs, etc. and replenishing pool towels.
- Regularly empties trash from receptacles in public areas and in hotel offices.
- Maintains cleaning equipment in good working condition.
- Reports any defective equipment or maintenance problems in public areas to Housekeeping Supervisors or Administrative Assistant.
- Collaborates in maintaining the hotel’s preparation and readiness for official Sheraton Inspection and Public Health inspections.
- Collaborates in periodic guestroom renovations and redecoration by removing and moving mattresses, box springs, furniture, lamps and other furnishings.
- Performs other cleaning functions as directed by Housekeeping management.
Minimum requirements :
- 1 year of Housekeeping/Lobby/Public Area experience or equivalent
- Basic English skills sufficient to understand spoken requests from guests or managers
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to read basic instructions or communications
- Ability to follow through with work checklists and work order reports of problems.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
Working conditions:
- Typically bends, stoops, moves, squats, walks frequently during the shift to perform cleaning tasks.
- Must be able to stand and perform cleaning tasks for up to 4 hours at a time. Must lift up to 10 lbs. frequently during the shift.
- Requires visual acuity to be able to clean thoroughly and maintain cleanliness and manual dexterity to perform cleaning tasks.
- Most work is performed indoors. Outdoor cleaning of glass windows, doors outside entrances and transporting trash outside entrances is required.
- Works regularly with cleaning and disinfecting chemicals.
