OBJECTIVE:
As a Service Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of control systems within our service and support department. Your expertise in control systems and troubleshooting will be vital in providing timely and effective solutions to our clients' technical issues.
PRIMARY DUTIES & TASKS:
- Control System Maintenance:
o Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on control systems to ensure they are operating at optimal levels.
o Diagnose and rectify issues related to software, hardware, and networking components of control systems.
- Troubleshooting and Support:
o Provide technical support to clients and internal teams in resolving control system-related issues.
o Identify and troubleshoot control system problems, such as PLC programming errors or HMI configuration issues.
o Collaborate with project engineers and technical teams to integrate control systems into new projects or modify existing ones.
o Assist in the commissioning and startup of control systems for clients.
- Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of control system configurations, changes, and updates.
o Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and resolution activities.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing:
o Provide training and guidance to end-users and colleagues on control system operation and troubleshooting.
o Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to share knowledge within the organization.
o Ensure that control systems adhere to quality standards and meet client requirements.
o Implement quality control measures and perform system testing.
o Communicate with clients to understand their control system issues and requirements.
o Keep clients informed about the progress of troubleshooting and resolution efforts.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a related field is a plus. Certification in relevant control systems or automation technologies is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Service Controls Engineer or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in control systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Proficiency in control system programming, including PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell) and HMIs (Siemens, Rockwell).
- Experience in adhesive applications and proficiency in quality control systems.
- Experience with automated welding equipment such as Fronius, SKS, WTC.
- Knowledge of communication protocols, such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC.
- Familiarity with industrial automation and control system software (e.g., SCADA, DCS).
- Proficiency in programming for ladder logic and structural text.
- Familiarity with Siemens and Allen Bradley systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and compliance.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a related field, or 5 years’ of experience. Certifications in relevant control systems or automation technologies is a plus.

Minimum of 50-70% travel required; Ability to travel domestic and internationally. Valid passport required or ability to obtain one quickly.
