Are you a gifted salesperson who desires a job with a life-saving mission? Do you have a keen attention to detail? At San Diego Blood Bank, your mission will be to grow our community’s local blood donor population by managing a territory of blood drive accounts. You will build relationships with new and existing company blood drives, or individuals, to create excitement and passion for blood donation within your territory. Your role will include prospecting and coordinating with appropriate departments to ensure a positive account and blood donor experience. Once blood drives are booked, your role will be to provide strategic and collaborative solutions to accounts to help them achieve their goals, as well as manage logistics for the drive itself.
- Build and manage pipeline for territory in order to meet hospital and patient needs annually
- Secure blood drive commitments and ensure growth of accounts year over year
- Manage account logistics in assigned territory, including: estimating drive potential; analyzing past operations & trends; parking and direction and reporting drive results
- Provide proper tools to accounts to ensure blood drive success
- Ensure excellent customer service to accounts, paying attention to details and ensuring that accounts feel appreciated for their dedication to the community
- Review reports detailing activities, blood collections volume, and expenses in order to make best decisions related to blood drive accounts and staffing constraints
- Plan for success by managing time and resources to ensure drives are booked out in advance and meet monthly and annual goals
- Attend networking events and provide effective informational presentations in the community.
- Maintain accurate reports, files, and pertinent information on accounts
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal partners
- Work and educate companies, community groups, clubs and organizations on blood donation, research or both
- Identify and target some potential accounts based on diversity needs
- Meet specific weekly recruitment lead generation goals based on program goals for underrepresented populations in research
- Responsible for developing strategies to maximize the potential of new and current individual territories to book blood and or research collections and meet set goal
- Take part in regular accounts reviews with the department manager
- Participates in special projects as directed by the Director, Recruitment
- Represent SDBB in a professional manner in dress, demeanor and speech
- Perform other related duties assigned or requested
Working Environment:
Normal office environment.
Frequent exposure to outdoor environment and non-company facilities.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work on a computer 4 - 8 hours a day.
Must be able to communicate clearly.
May be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
Must have ability to move around office and attend meetings outside the office for donor recruitment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Education: Four year accredited college degree preferred.
Experience: Two to three years relevant work experience preferred.
