Job Summary:
Sanitation Tech - Nutrition & Food Services
Food Services Equipment Tech Responsible for performing duties in a variety of areas which may include all or one of the following: Utility – Safely transporting patient meal food carts to and from nursing units; warewashing of dishes, pots and pans; basic housekeeping of walls, floors, windows and equipment.
Responsible for completing and overseeing detailed housekeeping activities, including the use of mechanical equipment, and may work independently during off-peak hours to accomplish tasks.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Ensures the Safety of Customers and Team Members according to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and county Health Dept. Guidelines:
- Washes hands frequently and appropriately wears gloves.
- Follows appropriate infection prevention practices.
- Maintains all the work areas in a clean and organized manner; free of spills and fall hazards.
- Monitors and records food and/or equipment temperatures; immediately correcting/escalating "out of range" occurrences.
- Stores food and/or supplies using proper labeling, dating and rotation methods.

Ensures Positive Service Outcomes:
- Comes to work as scheduled, arriving at the workstation prior to task start time.
- Stocks supplies prior to service start time and peak activity.
- Sets up workstation according to area requirements.

- Follows work area's uniform specifications, i.e., clothing and shoes are neat and clean.
- Collaborates with team members and Leadership to meet the goals and objectives of the Department and Hospital.

Ensures Positive Work Area Outcomes:
- Performs detailed housekeeping activities, including the use and basic maintenance of powered/mechanical equipment while ensuring all safety guidelines are followed.
- Works independently, possibly during off-peak hours; thereby, requiring the ability to manage own time to complete tasks properly and on time.
- Sets up, operates, and breaks down equipment according to manufacturer's instruction.
- Monitors and guides other team members to ensure proper completion of cleaning tasks.
- Maintains cleaning schedules and checklists by reading/understanding duties and documenting completion, including notation of any equipment or environmental problems.

Qualifications:
Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred, but not required.
Required Minimum Experience: Less than one year of related work experience. Experience in cleaning & sanitizing foodservice equipment strongly preferred.
Required Minimum Skills: Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and Math.
