Local cosmetics manufacturer seeks experienced Quality Manager. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and overall quality of cosmetics produced by the company. This position oversees the Quality Assurance (QA) department and implements strategies to maintain the highest standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Job Responsibilities:
- Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and manage a robust QMS that adheres to relevant industry regulations (e.g., FDA [US Food and Drug Administration]) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Quality Control (QC): Oversee the development and execution of inspection, testing, and evaluation methods for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Documentation and record keeping: manage all QA documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), SDS’s, specifications, training records, and audit reports.
- Compliance: Ensure all processes and products comply with regulatory requirements and company standards. Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits by regulatory bodies.
- Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA): Investigate deviations from specifications and customer complaints. Implement corrective actions to address issues and preventive actions to minimize future occurrences.
- Supplier Management: Establish and maintain quality standards for raw materials and packaging suppliers. Conduct audits and monitor supplier performance.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the QA team, providing training and ensuring effective communication.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve quality processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Data Analysis: Analyze quality data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Reporting: Prepare reports on quality performance metrics and present them to relevant stakeholders.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Science, or a related field (e.g., Cosmetic Science).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the cosmetics industry.
- Strong understanding of cosmetics regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Experience with developing and implementing QMS programs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
Additional Skills (desirable):
- Experience with cosmetics product development and testing.
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Experience with conducting audits.
- Experience with risk management principles.

Pay Range: $55k-$67K, depending on experience.
