RECORDING DEPUTY
Adams County is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Recording Deputy to join our team. This vital role serves as a cornerstone in our county's record-keeping and public service operations. The Recording Deputy plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of county records, facilitating property transactions, and providing essential services to the public. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to local government operations and serve the community in a meaningful way.
Responsibilities:
Recording Deputies are responsible for a wide range of duties critical to county operations. Your primary tasks will include preserving and maintaining official county records, conducting lien and title searches, record and file various legal documents such as deeds, mortgages, and other property-related paperwork. Persons assist in licensing which involves working closely with public inquiries, marriage applications, collecting fees for services, and ensuring all transactions comply with state and federal regulations. Persons are responsible for operating and maintaining office equipment, entering data into computer systems, and potentially assisting with voter registration processes. The ability to maintain confidentiality, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills are essential in this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate, along with experience in accounting, auditing, or a similar field. Proficiency in current office technology and software is required, including familiarity with document management systems and basic database operations. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial. Experience in customer service and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion are highly valued. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to public service, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with Washington State recording laws and regulations is a plus, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time, benefited position which is currently classified at Range A of the 2024 Adams County Employee Salary Schedule of $19.21- $25.16 hour. Initial step placement at time of hiring is dependent upon prior relevant experience and qualifications. Fully paid employee benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life. Adams County participates in the Washington State Retirement Fund.
