The Chief Financial Officer will have the responsibility for the development and execution of the financial strategy supporting Iroquois Nursing Home, The Cottages at Garden Grove, Enriched Resources for Independent Elderly (ERIE) and other supported entities ("the Companies").
The CFO will have primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial related activities. Direct responsibilities include strategic planning, controllership, accounting and consolidation, patient financial services, financial planning, and analysis. This role will demand strong technical skills paired with sound leadership and people development to help drive the growth, integration, and long-term profitability of the Companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a key business partner to the Board of Directors, facility administrators, business partners/advisors and members of the leadership team. Provide financial advice, counsel, and analyses, as well as sound business judgment, to the leadership team.
Oversees all finance functions including accounting, payroll and disbursements, operating and capital budget process, strategic financial planning, analyses and forecasting, patient financial services and reimbursement. With respect to financial statements, determines appropriate reserve levels in conjunction with management advisors and auditors.
Develops and oversees budgets which conform to the strategic and financial guidelines of the organization in coordination with management advisors. Verifies the integrity of the operating budget by measuring, projecting and analyzing variances and recommending appropriate action to senior leadership.
Communicates financial information to management. Key financial indicators are reviewed on a weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis with senior leadership, together with specific recommendations on how to improve these performance indicators. Works collaboratively with leadership to monitor daily indicators of activity to support proactive management of operations.
Ensures the integrity of financial reporting and that proper internal controls exist and address any deficiencies identified.
Responsible for the completion of Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, annual audits, tax filings, and other regulatory filings/reporting as required.
Act as the key contact for the timely completion of all financial, regulatory, and reimbursement related audits, ensuring records are available to the auditors in a timely fashion to meet audit reporting deadlines. Respond timely to audit inquiries and requests for information. Ensure management and/or boards are routinely updated as to status and potential audit issues.
Oversee the accounting and patient financial services team and ensure that all policies and procedures necessary to ensure accurate and timely billing and financial report. This includes management reporting and analysis that comply with all relevant laws and requirements.
A proactive interpreter of relevant and appropriate accounting issues and ensure that finance and internal control activities and practices throughout the Companies and conform to generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP), and all applicable laws.
Manage monthly financial forecasting, annual budgeting, capital budgeting and strategic financial planning.
Oversee cash, investment and asset management planning, policies and activities, directing financial strategies and activities, and managing banking relationships.
Oversee insurance and benefit administration for the Companies ensuring appropriate risk management. Ensure regulatory reports for benefits and insurance are completed timely.
Collaborates with other departments and leaders to carry out the Companies' goals and objectives.
Responsible for the system of internal controls, billing controls, policies and procedures, accounting and consolidation policies and procedures, including development and maintenance of accounting and control policies and procedures and their consistent application.
Direct and monitor the activities of all assigned functional areas. Recruit, mentor, develop and successfully manage a team to achieve the financial operations departments' strategic objections. Establish performance goals for direct reports and effectively measure progress against those goals.
Represent the Companies in relationships with the community, suppliers, competitors, government agencies, and professional organizations.
Performs other related responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree - Finance or Accounting, MBA and/or CPA Preferred, and have substantial experience in financial analysis, accounting controls, and general accounting.
Work experience in healthcare finance.
10+ years' experience in a senior finance role, with an ability to manage multiple projects.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP required.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining a strong internal control structure.
Strong collaboration and influencing skills. Experience working in managing work teams.
Highly ethical. Can be trusted to maintain financial integrity of the organization.
Advanced analytical and cost control skills are necessary to direct management of financial resources, determine needs for capital equipment, personnel, expense and revenue budgets.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
