Quality Assurance Manager
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND TASKS:
Including, but not limited to the following duties:
- Work with management and employees to implement and maintain the Food Safety Plan for our facility
- Lead team of Quality Assurance Technicians & QA Supervisor
- Maintain and organize product certification documents
- Lead and organize Inspections and Audits
- Review and analyze product quality and safety information
- Regularly communicate with management regarding quality issues with ingredients, production, and/or packaging
- Manage new certifications and ingredient supplier approval processes
- Manage current environmental monitoring program
- Work with management to train and educate employees to ensure success of the Food Safety Program
- Maintain testing equipment for product quality and equipment cleanliness
NECESSARY SKILLS, ABILITIES AND AMBITIONS:
- Knowledge of food safety requirements including having been HACCP, SQF, FSPCA trained
- Familiarity with food manufacturing practices
- Excellent communication skills; able to relay information clearly, receive information openly and follow up in a timely manner
- Experience in developing and/ or managing Food Safety plans
- A hands-on, self-starter who works well in a team setting, and pays close attention to details
- A desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks
- Experience in GFSI audit scheme, preferably SQF trained
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary to perform this job
- Interest in working in an innovative environment with a supportive team of colleagues

COMPENSATION:
- Salary Range - $75,000 - $85,000/year; experience taken into consideration
