Under direction, to coordinate the work activities related to picking up, receiving, storing, and delivering a variety of tools, materials, equipment and other related items to a County warehouse, facility or construction job site.
Sufficient education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the above tasks and the possession and application of the following knowledge and abilities.
Training and Experience: The following knowledge and abilities are acquired through possession of a high school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience ordering, purchasing, issuing and inventorying facility construction and maintenance materials, equipment, parts, accessories and tools; one (1) of the required years of experience must include working in materials management for a facilities maintenance organization preparing and/or processing material requests.
Possession of a valid California driver's license prior to appointment, and the ability to qualify for and maintain a County Driver's permit.
Special Requirement:
Possession of a forklift operator certification within six (6) months of appointment or must vacate the position. Certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Pass Probation and Sheriff back-ground check, and obtain and maintain security clearance.
Knowledge of:

Inventory maintenance principles including ordering, stocking and warehousing practices;

Facility maintenance and construction materials, parts, equipment, and tool suppliers;

Material, equipment, small tools and parts used in construction and facility maintenance;

Building maintenance, shop practices and warehouse equipment operation;
