Overview:
Join our team as a Hospice Nurse at Texas Hospice Providers, where we are dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care to individuals facing terminal illnesses. As a Hospice DON, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families during challenging times.
2 Years experience as Hospice DON required
Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic care to patients by addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Offer support and counseling services to patients and their families.
- Educate patients and families on end-of-life care options.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and autonomy are respected at all times.
- Advocate for policies that support compassionate end-of-life care.
Experience:
- Previous experience in hospice care or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of systems related to assisted living, nursing administration, and home care.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage shifts effectively.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing care plans.
- Understanding of resident rights and nurse management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
