Snell & Wilmer is currently seeking an Accounting Assistant in our Phoenix office to assist all teams across the accounting department with a multitude of tasks as demands arise. You will provide flexible support to the business intake, pricing, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust & retainer, client account collections, and finance teams from time to time. You will have the opportunity to be cross-trained by multiple teams and knowledgeable of their responsibilities and processes.
This position will work with the existing Accounting Assistant and will report to the Account Manager Coordinator. This is a hybrid working arrangement, once training is completed, with some work done from home and some work expected to be done in the office.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Submits invoices or reimbursement requests for payment
- Answers incoming calls and assists clients with routine questions or refers the call to the appropriate person or team
- Assists secretaries and attorneys with navigating the accounting and billing software
- Generates and/or mails various reports or bills for the accounting team, administrative assistants, or attorneys
- Prepares and processes write-off requests for uncollectible accounts
- Processes credit card payments as received
- Completes and submits client vendor forms, W-9 forms, and electronic payment instructions
- Provides verbal wire instruction confirmation for incoming and outgoing wire transfers
- Processes billing and timekeeper maintenance requests
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested
Experience and Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in an office professional environment; legal experience preferred, but not required
- Communicate clearly, tactfully, kindly and professionally with all Attorneys, Directors, C-Suite, Staff, and visitors to the office
- High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Must have an enthusiastic attitude and clear and courteous communication style
- Demonstrates unwavering confidence in decision-making and problem-solving, inspiring trust and motivation within the team
- Must be able to solve problems effectively and creatively
- Basic skills using Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, required
- Maintain confidentiality of clients and demonstrate professional behavior and judgment in dealing with delicate situations
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure, respond quickly to changing demands and be self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as part of a team
