KINDERGARTEN AIDE - SWAMPSCOTT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - 2 POSITIONS NEEDED
The responsibilities of a Kindergarten Aide: PART TIME 19.5 HOURS PER WEEK

Assist in daily activities in the kindergarten classroom including preparing materials (copying. cutting)

Assist in activities of daily living for kindergarten students (zipping coast, opening lunch containers, tying shoes, etc.)

Assist in the supervision of kindergarten students in the classroom setting.

Monitoring and managing students and their behavior and manners during meals in the lunchroom/classroom with particular attention to safety and social distancing protocols (behavior problems will be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by the individual school site).

Ensure each meal service flows smoothly while communicating with staff and students professionally and positively

Manages students during meal service (behavior problems will be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by the individual school site).

Communicates with students and school staff positively and professionally utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills.

Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten assisting students who need assistance.

Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria/classroom. Cleans the tables, chairs, and floors where students have eaten.

Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time.

Participates in training sessions, meetings, and scheduled cleaning days as requested.

Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.

Supervise students at playtime and lunchtime and maintain a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.

Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
