General Position Summary:
Responsible for receiving, inspecting, stocking, and issuing parts (domestic and international), components and final assemblies.
Essential Functions:
- Receive material in SUM’s ERP system per documented processes.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments per documented processes and corresponds with purchasing buyers to rectify damages and shortages.
- Prepare receiving information data using Microsoft Excel.
- Communicate shipment information via email with purchasing department.
- Marks identifying information, codes, figures, or letters on articles.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measure items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Operates forklift, hand truck or other means to move shipments from receiving platform to work area and/or storage.

Physical Requirements:
- Constant: Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, hearing/listening, repetitive use of hands, wrists and fingers for writing and keyboarding, grasping, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., push/pull carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Occasional: Sitting, talking, climbing ladders/steps (may rarely lift up to 70 lbs.). Visual acuity to be able to read print and computer screens.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to handle parts of varying sizes
- Transport materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Learn and use manufacturing software and other computer programs
- Make routine decisions effectively, occasionally dealing with complex matters
- Work independently and as a member of a team
- Communicate effectively and read, understand, speak and write English
- Working knowledge of basic mathematics (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
- Treat others respectfully and exhibiting good interpersonal skills
- Ask for guidance and assistance where needed
- Work effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and all working contacts
- Understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Meet deadlines and production goals

Education & Experience:
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years general warehouse/stockroom/shipping/receiving or related experience.
