The Retail Trainer position is instrumental in our mission to provide the best training support to our Retail teams to ensure the development and implementation of Retail training programs and procedures. You will be accountable to proactively determine and identify training needs, and will lead the implementation of our Retail training programs, consistent with the Company expectations and culture.
The Retail Trainer will lead and deliver training programs for our Retail teams to ensure consistent implementation of customer service standards, product knowledge, store level execution and brand representation. This role involves hands-on training and provides ongoing support to enhance the performance and productivity of store management and employee teams. You will monitor the adoption and use of all training programs by the Retail teams and report on any areas of opportunity, along with offering sound methods of improvement, to ensure consistency in the Customer Experience across our Retail network.
Key skills required: Training mindset and ability to create best in class training programs and procedures; Impactful collaboration with HR and key management to positively drive in-store training results; and Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the Company, using various techniques to ensure understanding.
What Will You Do?
- Develop company-wide training opportunities and promote to our Retail network to assure participation and understanding;
- Gather and evaluate information from our Retail network (office and in-store teams) to identify weaknesses for additional training needed;
- Recommend training methods and order and maintain training equipment and materials (as approved);
- Create training schedules for all retail store job positions, including Orientation programs for all new hires;
- Work hands-on with in-store Retail teams to ensure understanding of Training programs and expectations;
- Track and create reports of all training outcomes and maintain training track records for each Retail location;
- Train on Company policies and procedures using the best training methods for each individual audience;
- Proactively inform management of training opportunities - schedule and track individual progress;
- Maintain and be accountable for approved fiscal Training budget set for our Retail network;
- Travel within the Retail region to complete job duties and other duties as assigned.
What Experience & Qualifications Will You Need?
To perform this position successfully, the Retail Trainer must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills and must possess effective training capabilities. You should bring at least three (3) years of progressive experience in Retail, Convenience Store or Restaurant industries and also possess excellent leadership and motivational skills. Your strengths include being highly organized, and capable of multi-tasking. You are a self-starter, quick learner, detail-oriented and flexible to adapt to various tasks and schedules. Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and comfortable with Retail technology and Retail in-store systems (preferably in a Convenience Store environment). Able to communicate with others effectively and professionally in both verbal and written context. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be available to work as needed, including nights and weekends. Position may require the ability to lift over 50lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods in a Retail store environment.
