Primary Duties & Responsibilities

- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction and make required repairs.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
- Troubleshoot and maintain control systems. This includes all electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
- Troubleshoot and repair all AC and DC motors and controls, pressure sensing devices, voltage current, and resistance measurement devices.
- Troubleshoot and repair plant lighting 480V, 207V and 110V circuits; 480V cranes; PLC based controls and relay logic circuits.
- Monitor furnace status and light furnaces.
- Trains and oversees electrical projects as directed by supervisory personnel.
- Installs power supply wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus for newly installed machines, equipment, and buildings.
- Connects power supply wires to machines/equipment and connects cables/wires between machines/equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Pushes buttons and presses keys on controllers, teach pendant, and programmable controllers to program automated machinery to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of Company.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Three to seven years related experience and/or training equivalent to a journeyman rating in a manufacturing environment.
