Position Summary:
The Dietician position assists in the successful operation of Food & Nutrition Services. The Dietician will assist in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities; including patient care, non-patient care, quality improvement, sanitation, infection control and all hospital related activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs dietary care of patients with basic nutrition needs including screening, assessment and care planning as well as education to ensure patient dietary needs are met.
- Educates medical staff and counsels patients/residents and their families on proper nutritional care.
- Manages and promotes food and nutrition programs according to standards and policy.
- Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, nutrition care, special diets and menu requests.
- Stays current with most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications and standards of practice.
- Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate resource when necessary.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as policies & procedures (e.g., HIPPA/Privacy Act, quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel)
Qualification:
- Minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Current IL professional license
