The Personnel Department in the Office of the Town Comptroller for the Town of Greenburgh in Westchester County is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Personnel Clerk to join our team. Only candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be considered. The successful candidate will be required to take the competitive examination for this title when next announced.

Job Summary: Under general supervision, an incumbent of this class coordinates and performs specialized clerical tasks related to personnel management in accordance with established rules and procedures. The work involves the processing of civil servce and personnel forms; the maintenance of employee records, the establishment of and maintenance of employee personnel files and depending upon assignment, may also involve the processing of benefits forms and records. The position has contact with various levels of employees as well as the general public. Supervision may be exercised over part time or seasonal support personnel. Does related work as required.
Examples of Work include but are not limited to the following:
· Maintains, files and archives electronic and paper personnel files for the Town of Greenburgh.
· Assists with recruiting, updating of job announcements on a weekly/bi-weekly basis. Providing hiring department with weekly applicants for open positions.
· Assists Personnel Manager with reporting, reviewing, and resolving personnel discrepancies within Westchester County Civil Service.
· Maintains records on position lines, promotions, demotions, increments, transfers separations, leaves without pay, evaluations, and employee statuses.
· Prepares reports for county, state and federal agencies relative to personnel.
Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of clerical experience, one (1) of which the primary responsibility of the position was processing personnel and/or payroll records.

Pay: $53,000.00 - $61,800.00 per year
