Responsibilities
-
Under the supervision of the OR Scheduling Coordinator and/or Dir. of Physician Affairs, screen interview, counsel and provide direct patient care.

Document all clinical observations, findings and services provided in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).

Report all abnormal observations and findings to the appropriate medical provider in a timely manner verbally or via Skype.

Relay pathology results to patients

Recall process for Endoscopy procedures

Schedule Endoscopy procedures

Data entry
-
Track pathology results
-
Responsible for retrieving appropriate laboratory, diagnostic and radiology reports as requested.

Assist in transporting paperwork, and other materials between sites when appropriate.

Review Rx, Results and Office voice mail folders daily and the, Scheduling/ physician pools, daily for tasks, follow-ups as assigned.

Responsible for monitoring pathology results

Perform Medical Assistant duties in accordance with the current Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals.

Perform Medical Assistant duties when assigned to other clinical areas.

Communicate with clinical, clerical, and managerial staff to provide continuity of patient care.

Attend health center and network meetings, as required and assigned.

Report any unusual occurrences or problems in a timely manner to Unit Coordinator.

Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
-
1-3 years of experience in ambulatory setting (emergency room, clinic or health center)
-
Working experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software
Preferred Job Requirements:
-
Associates, High School Diploma, or GED equivalent
-
Bilingual English/Spanish or other language
-
Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant/Medical Technologist school/program and holds a valid Certificate of Completion
