Description:
Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing on-going education, training, and hiring for staff
in accordance with company policy and procedure as well as federal and local regulatory compliance.
Serves as the primary contact in the facility for staff education. Also assists the Director of Nursing in
managing overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with Company policies,
standards of nursing practices and government regulations so as to maintain excellent care of all the
Residents’ and employee’s needs.
Requirements:
- Plan, organize, and implement on-going education and in-service staff in accordance with company policy and procedures as well as local and federal regulations.

Interview, recommend, hire, and train employees.

Plan, assign, and direct work of employees in training.

Assist with the orientation process in the facility and create orientation schedule.

Assist, as needed, on administering TB, Influenza and Hepatitis B vaccinations, and interpretation of drug test results and related issues.

Ensure that employee attendance at in-service and other training programs is tracked and that education is offered to meet certification and/or regulatory requirements.

Responsible for overseeing nursing services in the absence of the Director of Nursing.

Monitor unit activities, communicate policies, evaluate performance, and provide feedback to assist, coach, or redirect team members. Provide commendations and discipline as needed.

Maintain records and assist with managing budgets and supplies.

Assists in conducting regular rounds to monitor resident activity and ensure resident quality care.

Assess resident’s physical and psychosocial status.

Assist in communicating with residents, family members and management regarding resident status.

Personally participates in the assessment and delivery of care.

Carry out, coordinate, or manage facility Infection Control policies.

Follow and ensures compliance with State, Federal, and company QAPI standards.

Monitor associate relations practices to ensure practices maintain high morale and staff retention to include effective communication, prompt problem resolution, positive supervisory practices, and maintaining a positive work environment.
