Dietary Aide Job Description:
Title: Dietary Aide
Direct Report: Director of Food/Nutrition
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Food/Nutrition you are responsible for providing the highest quality of care in our 117-bed facility to our residents in a family-like environment. You will interact with residents to ensure that they enjoy their meals and dining experience. You may also be responsible for arranging dining areas and setting tables in a community dining space. Your goal is to provide quality service to our residents.
Qualifications:
- Institutional or restaurant kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Flexible availability, periodically working different shifts based on operational needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates, cleans, and sanitizes all related kitchen equipment and dining areas.
- Sweeps /mops dining and kitchen areas.
- Stores supplies and puts orders away in stockroom keeping it neat and orderly.
- Sets up food trays and deliver to units; keeps dining room supplied with coffee and cold drinks.
- Assembles and portions a variety of menu items.
- Records dish machine and food temperatures per policy.
- Assist with the preparation of food for special activities.
- Utilizes pot and pan sink as necessary.
- Attends meetings, training, and in-services as required.
Specific Requirements:
- Must be able to follow established quality control and infection control procedures and policies set forth by the facility and federal guidelines under the food industry.
- Must be able to work as a team.
- Must be able to read and write the English language.
- Must possess excellent oral and strong written communication skills.
- Must possess excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills to complete daily tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have the ability to work in a high-pressure work environment.
