An international food manufacturer seeks a sales manager responsible for developing sales and promoting the company's products through distributors as well as direct sales in the food service area such as restaurant, K-12, and hotel industries.
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree and more than two years of experience in food sales in the K-12 and hotel industries, not retail.
[Responsibilities]
- Discuss with supervisor all sales targets for specific area(s)
- Be informed of company directives and any changes made to those directives while insuring compliance to them as they occur.
- Contact and call on brokers, distributors, customers, and clients frequently in order to establish a relationship and increase sales.
- Develop new customers while maintaining and expanding current customer list.
- Seek out and create a plan for discovering new opportunities to sell the products.
- Create approach and follow through for the education of broker personnel on our products and policies.
- Coordinate programs and promotions with broker(s).
- Attend food shows for retail, food service and industrial products.
- Work to instill initiative and enthusiasm in the broker community.
- Control credit and collections of major customers.
- Process, coordinate and initiate all paperwork that is related to the operation of the branch.
- Be available to entertain customers as needed
[Qualifications]
- Bachelor degree in a related field from 4 year college or university
- 2+ years sales experience in the food service field (Restaurant, Supermarkets, K-12 etc.)
- Successful history of meeting sales goals to large regional and national accounts
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Clean driving record, and ability to travel by car and/or plane for long durations
- Ability to carry 50 lbs., and set up trade materials/equipment
- Can commute to the office (no remote work)
