Role Summary
The Reporting Accountant is responsible for preparing financial statements and reports to comply with regulatory requirements. This role involves organizing and presenting financial reports to the company and acting as the point of contact for auditors during external audits. A robust accounting background and the ability to create and implement a comprehensive Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) reporting function across the business are essential.

Overall Responsibilities
- Prepare and present monthly income/expense, balance sheet, ratio reporting, department allocation information, profitability statements, and other reports as requested.
- Coordinate interim and annual audits.
- Implement and monitor administrative controls to identify and resolve internal process issues.
- Analyze variances in income and expense statements and balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Document, analyze, and maintain accounting and reporting policies/procedures.
- Prepare filings for the US Bureau of Economic Analysis (quarterly).
- Check and clean data, replacing erroneous values with correct figures and analyzing data considering missing information, outliers, and confounding variables.
- Establish and maintain internal stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issue management.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statement analytics for the US subsidiaries.
- Implement appropriate internal controls over financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and footnotes for the US subsidiaries.
- Update accounting policies as needed for changes in GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure financial statements and reports comply with regulatory requirements.
- Perform monthly checks to validate the accuracy of financial reporting and confirm key account reconciliations.
- Prepare periodic statements presenting the financial status at specific points in time or overstated periods.
- Identify major risks in internal processes within the company.
- Assist in year-end audits and manage ad-hoc inquiries from external auditors.
- Adhere to the operational risk framework, ensuring compliance with all regulatory or company-determined parameters.
- Act as a role model, demonstrating high standards of integrity and conduct, and reflecting company values.
- Escalate risk events immediately.
- Provide input to risk management processes as needed.
- Proficient with financial statements and SEC reporting.
- Familiarity with SOC1 reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) reporting requirements.
Monthly and Year-End Duties:
- Assist in all phases of the closing and reporting functions.
- Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
The company may require you to carry out other duties from time to time.

Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting/related field or a Masters in Accounting, plus five years' experience in a Controller position or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word, with advanced skills in Excel for automating tasks and organizing data for analytical purposes using pivot tables and charts.
- Strong PeopleSoft general ledger skills.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Series 99 or 27 certification.
- Proficient with financial statements and SEC reporting.
- Familiarity with SOC1 and Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the associated risk and compliance requirements.
Preferred Background:
- Experience from a financial institution, such as an investment bank, global bank, asset manager, broker-dealer, or similar.
