The Occupational Therapist will work Full Time, Days, and will evaluate and treat patients in acute care, skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. Provides and directs all aspects of quality patient care, including evaluation and treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education, and documentation according to organizations guidelines, professional standards, and community needs. Serves as a patient and rehabilitation advocate for current and prospective patients, and to all internal and external customers. Actively participates in quality assurance and customer service activities for the rehabilitation department.
- Assist in quality improvement and new programming initiative development.
- As an Occupational Therapist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary care team.
- Oversees the services provided by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides.
- Report to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.

EDUCATION:
- Graduate of a program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
EXPERIENCE:
- Interest in working with the geriatric population
- With Occupational Therapy, Experience is PREFERRED
- With Skilled Nursing, Experience is PREFERRED
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- California license to practice Occupational Therapy REQUIRED
- BLS and CPR Certification REQUIRED
- Is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Computer use knowledge and quick to learn new computer systems and use of electronic medical records.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language
- Full knowledge of resident rights
- Working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources
- Is able to practice unencumbered
- Exudes professionalism in presentation
- Ability to multitask
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical requirements include bending, squatting, twisting, stair climbing, walking, sitting, standing, lifting, and carrying up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to use equipment and techniques to safely assist patients to transfer, move in and out of bed, and ambulate.
