POSITION OVERVIEW
Delta Consulting Group (Delta), a leading consulting firm focused on dispute resolution, project advisory, and risk mitigation, based in Woodbridge, VA, is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join our growing accounting and finance team. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accounting Assistant/Jr. Staff Accountant will support full-cycle accounting functions each month, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Contract Billings, Revenue Recognition, month-end close, and account reconciliations.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter vendor information into the accounting software system.
- Accurately enter and code invoices into the accounting software system, ensuring timely processing.
- Issue payments and process monthly payments as approved.
- Receive and verify expense reports, including reviewing and verifying appropriate receipts.
- Prepare, post, verify, and record client payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Maintain and update client files, including changes to names, addresses, and mailing attentions.
- Create reports on the current status of client accounts as requested or required.
- Research and resolve client discrepancies and past-due amounts.
- Assist in generating monthly client invoices and billing statements.
- Manage monthly corporate credit card reconciliation, coding, and posting.
- Support firm international offices.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICIATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of one year of related experience required.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
2-3 years of relevant experience in professional services (e.g., accounting, law, IT, architecture/engineering) preferred but not required.
