We provide in-home care-giving support for adults with developmental disabilities.
Direct Support Professional Responsibilities:
- Familiarize and follow all policies and procedures per Policy and Procedure Handbook
- Participate in House Staff meetings as required
- Carry through with tasks as assigned by their supervisor
- As guests in the client’s home, DSPs will behave in a manner respectful of the client’s home
- Encouraged to participate in, and teach their clients all tasks associated with running a typical household, promoting client independence.
- Work with clients on their IISP goals as outlined in the IISP
- Maintain awareness of each client’s location at all times
- Engage in pro-social behavior and use appropriate language when in the company of their clients.
- As Mandated Reporters, DSP’s will report suspected abuse to the appropriate authorities, per Mandatory Reporting Policy
- Assist in administration of client medications
- Complete all applicable paperwork, including Incident Reports and Activity Logs
