Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare patients for treatment and ensure their comfort
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation
- Perform dental coding and billing procedures
- Manage patient scheduling and appointment reminders
- Assist with infection control protocols
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- X-ray certification
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft or similar dental software systems
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing procedures
- Experience with medical imaging techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain strict infection control standards
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to prevent cross-contamination
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic health record systems
