Accounts Receivable Representative I
This is a starting position with an established local home medical equipment business. Qualified individuals must be detail oriented and have basic computer, written and verbal skills. Experience in the medical field and understanding of insurance guidelines is helpful, but not necessary. This position requires the ability to work efficiently with great attention to detail. This employee reports to the Accounts Receivable Lead.
Accounts Receivable:
- Claims data entry
- Post insurance payments according to insurance explanation of benefits
- Prepare insurance claims, both electronic and HCFA 1500 forms
- Bill secondary insurance claims
- Research and resubmit insurance claim denials
- Research and submit insurance claim appeals
- Assist with working aging accounts receivables
- Make patient calls regarding payments, current and past due
- Decipher insurance benefits and deductible information for patients
- Scan documents into electronic database
- Prepare and send monthly statements
Miscellaneous:
- Assist with patients in the store and with answering phone when needed.
- Assist with end of day close when necessary
- Some filing
- Other duties as assigned
