Kitchen Manager
Position Summary
The Kitchen Manager leads all functions and processes related to the culinary program at Town Brewing Co. This includes but is not limited to staffing, scheduling, managing food & labor cost, menu creation, menu specials, and inventory management. They will work hand in hand with the Taproom Manager and Events Manager to coordinate special events, private events, and projected sales. This position is responsible for ensuring a top-level work environment for all and producing a great product with profitable margins. The Kitchen Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for hiring all kitchen staff
- Conduct training on restaurants procedures and expectations
- Develop schedule for kitchen staff to ensure coverage and maximize operational efficiencies
- Coordinate with the Director of Operations on the menu offerings
- Collaborate with Head Brewer on food and beer parings
- Coordinate and develop menu for private beer dinners with industry partners
- Establish relationships with vendors
- Place food and supply orders as necessary
- Ensure the food is prepared to order and in a timely manner
- Supervise food prep and cooking
- Overseeing food plating and temperature
- Establish portion sizes
- Price menu items in collaboration with the Director of Operations
- Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
- Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
- Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
Education & Experience
- 5+ years of experience working in a kitchen
- Valid ServSafe certification
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with the kitchen staff
- Superior attention to detail
- Proficient with budgeting
- Skilled negotiator
- Available to work weekends, holidays and frequent late nights
- Expert in hiring kitchen staff

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
