The Position: We are looking for an Assistant Director of Home Study and Post Release Services, who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The Assistant Director of Home Study and Post Release Services is responsible for facilitating effective communication and collaboration between the HSPRS program and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) in the absence of the program director, ensuring that the program's needs, updates, and achievements are accurately communicated. This role involves providing substantial support in managing the program’s operational, administrative, and financial aspects to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and services.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range we’re offering is $95,000-$104,000 annually depending (Based) on experience.

Qualifications:
- A Master of Social Work (MSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree, preferred; or
- A Bachelor degree in education, psychology, sociology or other relevant behavior science plus 5 years of progressive employment experience with a social services or child care agency or organization.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office-related software.
- Possess superior oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Ability to present information in a clear and concise voice.
- Able to work independently and organize multiple projects with minimum supervision.
- Able to work as a team member.
- Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professional boundaries with clients and staff.
- Able to represent the agency professionally and appropriately with all constituencies.

- VACCINATIONS REQUIRED: Be able to show proof of immunization or immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route, including:
- Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least four weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from a healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
- MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least four weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.
- Tdap: one Tdap dose.
- Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.
- DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index;

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating and evaluating the HSPRS operations under the guidance of the director to ensure compliance with regulations, contract standards, accreditation standards, and McKinley’s policies.
- Provide support in oversight activities and contribute to strategic planning.
- Actively collaborate with the team to ensure that unaccompanied youth are receiving adequate services.
- Serve as a liaison between the director and the team, facilitating communication and project execution.
- Support the implementation of policies to ensure the safety of all unaccompanied youth in placement.
- Assist in the intake process, including the review of intake packets and assessment of safety concerns, under the director's guidance.
- Assist and review case charts, with random audit to help implement adjustments to current procedures and protocols.
- Provide support and guidance in Staffing Home studies and making recommendations to provide support in providing a positive or negative recommendation.
- Provide support to a multicultural team of Case Manager and ready to staff cases where extra guidance and support is required.
- Provide support with the compliance team, in executing changes and procedures that are set forth by the office of refugee and resettlement.
- Present training for new onboarding personnel using training that aligns with ORR current procedures and policies.
- Coordinate and issue ORR policy guides that require immediate implementation.
- Be available to assist during evenings and weekends for emergencies, providing support to the director and taking lead when necessary.
- Assist in the development and management of expenditures, supporting budgetary decisions and financial planning.
- Help organize the work of the staff, assisting in delegating responsibilities as directed by the director to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Contribute to the assessment of operations and programs, offering recommendations for continual improvement to the director.
- Assist in reviewing complaints made by unaccompanied youth or their authorized representatives and support the decision-making process regarding the action to be taken.
- Work closely with the UC mental health team to ensure that unaccompanied youth are receiving adequate Mental Health Services.
- Organize the work of the staff and delegate responsibilities as needed.
- Support the director in overseeing and enhancing mental health support services.
- Actively participate in the Program Quality Improvement (PQI) program, contributing to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in performing all other related duties necessary to manage and administer the UC program effectively, as directed by the director.
