POSITION SUMMARY:
We are searching for a dynamic Manager, Learning & Development, to help us deliver on key initiatives. Reporting to the VP, Talent & Learning, this position works to deliver the Learning & Development and DEI strategies and supporting products that build the necessary skillset of the Institute’s current workforce and the strong, diverse bench strength for future success. You will work in partnership with the HR Business Partners and other members of the People team to fully understand and address business needs. You will build and deliver holistic, best-in-class learning solutions in response.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training
- Conduct training needs analyses and other assessments across all parts of the organization while partnering with HR Business Partners and business leaders.
- Attaining and maintaining any certifications or approvals to deliver content
- Conduct effective induction/orientation and skill development sessions.
- Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary.
- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices.
- Support the administration of Compliance training for all employees through the LMS.
Pursing Excellence
- Utilizing our Talent Roadmap, facilitate, and deliver training programs to drive organizational performance.
- For any ULI developed programs, work as part of team to create detailed content and facilitator’s guides.
- When needed, work with VP, Talent & Learning to source and select learning and development vendors to best support learning activities.
- Periodically review all learning sites, materials, and platforms to ensure that they are still optimal and following latest best practice.
Career Development
- Work in partnership with the broader HR team to seek ways to constantly enable a pragmatic feedback-and-performance culture within ULI, building the necessary skills at both the manager and employee levels.
- Become certified and administer 360 Feedback exercises and other online feedback tools.
- Assist VP, Talent & Learning, with change projects in the Career Development and Talent Management space, including the project management of some smaller programs.
Impact and Reporting
- Review the effectiveness and impact of programs through immediate feedback channels, suggesting improvements and further action needed as a result.
- Produce quarterly Learning & Development reports, analyzing learning activity levels, attendance, post-program feedback, and the broader return on investment.
- Oversee and manage the operations of the Absorb Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring its optimal performance, user accessibility, and usage.
Embracing Diversity and Inclusion
- Work with HR Business Partners to ensure that all learning solutions and training programs are attended by a representative group of employees.
- Roll out career and training programs to strengthen our diverse talent bench.

QUALIFICATIONS:*
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Specialist training certifications are a plus. Experience in a Learning & Development role, or 2 years’ experience at the Manager level.
- Demonstrated track record in building and facilitating training programs for audiences across multiple organizational levels.
- Experience in delivering multichannel learning & development strategies, with mix of digital, virtual, and live (in person) solutions.
- Experience in working with stakeholders across all levels of the organization to understand the business need, articulate the case for change, and engage in the delivery of the solution.
- A strong understanding of latest best practices in Learning & Development.
- Knowledge of different LMS software and platforms advantageous, though not essential. We currently utilize Absorb and other vendor platforms to deliver our suite of offerings.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
- Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals
- Good computer and database skills
