The Coating Inspector’s primary duties will be to perform on site daily inspections of rehabilitative work performed on water towers.
Job Duties:
- Inspection of structural steel coatings, observation of containment, disposal of hazardous waste, surface preparation, coating application, and familiarity with all applicable local, state and federal guidelines
- Complete and maintain daily records of field observations to include photographic documentation
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and standards
- Perform material sampling and testing on applicable materials
- Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration
- Conduct weekly meetings and liaise with all stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- NACE CIP-Level 1 Certification is required
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook for communication/reporting to office staff from the field
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to climb (i.e. – water tower) to a high elevation for inspections is mandatory
- Ability to walk long distances - potentially 1/2 mile to 1 mile per day
