Answering and dispatching of all incoming calls to the Hospital Switchboard/Answering Service with current support of systems software in a 24/7 365 days atmosphere. Secretaries are responsible for creating a reliable, prompt and professional communication experience for UnityPoint Health Des Moines, physicians and customers with positive interactions and accurate message taking skills.
Responsibilities:
Integrates and demonstrates CORE values and Expectations for Personal and Service Excellence to guide professional behaviors, while adhering to the policies and procedures of UnityPoint Health Des Moines. Answers and routes all incoming calls accordingly, showing empathy and professionalism for Iowa Lutheran, WEST, Blank Children’s Hospital and Iowa Methodist Hospital. Monitor and utilize all Message Center, Transport, and Integrated Service equipment according to procedures outlined in training.EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to fluently read, write and speak English. Experience: Security, law enforcement, EMT, and Customer service background preferred. Must have good spelling skills and correct grammar.
