*** URGENT NEED - one position available -
Primary Responsibilities:
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT.
· Must be familiar with metallurgical processes to “Industry Standards and Practices.”
· Must be capable of performing required tests of “Special Process” test coupons in a timely manner.
· Must be capable of preparing test samples for microscopic evaluation. These samples will be primarily coating evaluations to support production quality inspections.
· Must be able to train others on “Special Process”
· Must be able to train others on preparing coating test samples for microscopic evaluation
· Must be able to use polishers
· Must have the ability to use all saws in a safe manner.
· Must be able to complete coating evaluations (CrC, TBC, T800 etc.…)
· Must be proficient with image analysis
· Must have working knowledge of Micro hardness applications
· Must have working knowledge of coatings and their attributes (unmelts, porosities, crack, etc.)
· This specific Quality Technician role will support Gas Turbine Combustion Manufacturing.
· Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.
Required Skills:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· 2 years of quality assurance experience in a Manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of standard coating lab equipment
· Ability to read and understand drawings, blue-prints, process specification, standard operating procedures, manufacturing instructions etc.
· Ability to conduct in-process and final inspection audits and be able to present results to management.
· Willing to learn and adapt to fast paced manufacturing environment
· Be able to work with minimal supervision.
· Have excellent communication skills verbally and written. Able to write technical reports.
· Incumbent will need to be flexible and support where needed to ensure manufacturing productivity and efficiencies.
· Work and collaborate with COC supervisors, engineers (ME, Quality), managers and technical managers as required on product specific to that COC.
· Be able to document results precisely and accurately.
· Be willing to work overtime both daily and weekends as required.
· Be willing to participate in continuous improvement activities, workshops and events as necessary.
· Any other task that management may deem necessary to ensure productivity and takt adherence.
· Proficient in word, PowerPoint, excel and outlook.
Preferred Skills:
· Associates Degree or Vocational technical training
· Experience in coatings industry
· Central Coatings Laboratory (CCL) Certified- Training (Metcut)
· Prior knowledge of Siemens applications, customers, processes, and products
