Summary
The Consultant role will be responsible for managing internal risk and regulatory documentation as it relates to risk policies, procedures, and methodologies. The Consultant’s primary responsibilities will be leading the drafting and implementation of new risk management policies and procedures while maintaining and updating existing documents. The Consultant will work closely with the various Clearing House Risk teams and the client’s Clearing policy and compliance teams to ensure all policies, procedures, methodologies, and models are compliant with the client’s rules and any applicable regulations. The Consultant will also be expected to produce PowerPoint presentations and memos detailing updates and changes to policies and procedures.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience at an FCM, Bank, Exchange, or related entity in a risk function or similar.
- Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
- Familiar with exchange and/or financial institution compliance and risk policies.
What You Will Be Accountable For
- Lead the development and maintenance of risk management policies, procedures, and methodologies in line with the client’s Clearing’s established risk framework and regulatory requirements.
- Produce presentations in PowerPoint on risk initiatives, projects, monitoring, polices, procedures, methodologies, etc. Produce memos as needed to accompany PowerPoints.
- Develop thoughtful, well-organized, and on-point analysis of pertinent risk, regulatory, and compliance issues.
- Present analysis and other projects to senior management team at weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings.
- Aid in the compliance of the client’s regulatory requirements through engagements with regulators and providing assistance in regulatory and third-party requests.
- Work with other teams within clearing, product development, sales, treasury, and legal on analysis and the client’s Clearing projects and broader risk initiatives.
- Compose and communicate key industry and market news and developments and their potential impact on the client’s.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the client’s risk documents and frameworks and how they relate to each other and various other Clearing House departments.
What Qualifications You Need
- 5-7 years experience at an FCM, Bank, Exchange, or related entity in a risk function or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or other related field.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite.
- Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
- Familiar with Google suite.
- Familiar with exchange and/or financial institution compliance and risk policies.
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and to meet deadlines.
- Must work well in a team environment. Self-motivated professional.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
