Family Child Education-Santa Clara Unified School District provides high quality infant, toddler preschool and after school programs on elementary school campuses throughout Santa Clara Unified School District.
Family Child Education is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Education professional interested in making a difference in the lives of young children ages 6 weeks-5 years old. As one of our dynamic and experienced early learning professional, you will ensure your program provides hands-on, developmentally appropriate educational activities, enriched and inviting indoor and outdoor classroom environments, and lead your team of child development professionals to create a positive early learning experience for children and their families.
HOURS:
- 35-40 hours per week, 12 months per year
- Must be available to work between the hours of 7:15am-5:30pm, Monday - Friday and during school break weeks. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the program.
- Programs are open year-round.
- Hours, schedules, and locations are subject to change when school is not in session based on the needs of the program and department.
LOCATIONS: Santa Clara Unified School District Early Learning Programs, Pomeroy and Ponderosa Elementary School campuses.
SALARY RANGE: $23.20 - $28.18 per hour
- Salary based on education, child development permit, and experience
- Candidates with a valid CA Teacher Permit are placed on a higher pay scale (an additional 5% which is reflected in the pay range above)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 12 or more college semester credits or equivalent quarter units in Early Childhood or Child Development education at an accredited or approved college or university, including 3 units in Infant care and education is required. Valid CA Associate Teacher Child Development permit desired (Required for funded programs).
- 1-2 years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old in an infant, toddler or preschool early learning or group child care program
- CPR and First Aid Certified
- Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam
- Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children.
- Knowledge or understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practices, PITC, Preschool Learning Foundations, Desired Results Developmental Profile, Teaching Pyramid and Inclusive practices preferred.
- Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interaction and practicing good health habits.
- Assist in creating exciting and enriched environments connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences.
- Communicate regularly with parents to support, guide, and share in their child’s development.
- Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player.
- Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community and each other.
