Position: Part-Time Front Desk Associate
Hours: 10+ per week depending on the week and availability
We are looking for a friendly, organized and customer service-oriented individual to join our team as a front desk associate at our boutique hotel in Asbury Park. The ideal candidate will be an essential member of our team, providing excellent customer service to our guests and ensuring the smooth running of the front desk.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel.
- Check guests in and out of the hotel, ensuring that all necessary information and payments are processed accurately.
- Answer phone calls, e-mails and in-person inquiries, provide information about the hotel, facilities, and Asbury Park, and respond to guest concerns and requests.
- Make reservations and manage the hotel's reservation system to ensure that information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Handle customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ensures the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and lobby, including up-to-date promotional material and displays.
- Collaborate with other hotel staff to ensure smooth and efficient customer service, for example, coordinating with housekeeping for room turnovers and communicating with maintenance for any necessary repairs or issues.
- Walk through the guest rooms to confirm its cleanliness after housekeeping has cleaned, mark the room as clean in the reservation software.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as data entry and report preparation, as required.
- Adhere to hotel standards and policies, always representing the hotel in a positive and professional manner.
- This person must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a customer service-oriented role, such as receptionist or customer service representative.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in computer systems, including hotel reservation software, Microsoft Office and e-mail communications.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to customer concerns with empathy and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work as part of a team, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required in a hotel environment.
- Knowledge of Asbury Park and the surrounding area is an asset, but not necessary.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional training or certification in hospitality or a related field is preferred.
