Medical Transcriptionist – Part Time
Seeking a Remote OR On-site Part-Time Medical Transcriptionist for our busy Radiology Center.

Essential Functions
- Ensure accuracy and precision while working with medical transcription files.
- Producing radiological medical reports by capturing results from third-party EMR and inputting into UDI EMR.
- Reviewing and editing transcriptions for spelling, grammar, clarity and correct medical terminology.
- Making corrections, edits, and/or addendums to reports as per physician instructions.
- Recognizing, interpreting, and evaluating discrepancies, inaccuracies, and inconsistencies in medical dictation.
- Clarifying the inaccuracies without altering the actual meaning of the medical dictation or the style of dictator.
- Meeting quality and production standards and deadlines.
- Following the established guidelines to format specific documents.
- Comply with specific standards that apply to the style of medical records and to the legal and ethical requirements for preparing medical documents in a timely fashion and for keeping patient information confidential.
- The ideal candidate is a technology expert with Word and can navigate independently within medical software programs; knows how to copy, paste, and correct errors while inserting text into templates by using the basic CTRL functions on a Windows computer.
Related Functions and Skills Needed:
- An understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand and accurately transcribe dictated reports. Translate medical abbreviations into their expanded forms.
- Qualified candidates will be able to learn and use all functions of electronic medical record software. Must accurately enter data into a medical record chart and database, search information, send and receive email attachments.
- Must be able to function as part of a team while meeting mandated individual work submission deadlines.
- Must have good communication skills in order to interact at an appropriate level with teammates, physicians and management team of Teleradiology group.
- Must be able to type at least 60 WPM.
- Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information.
Education and Training:·Knowledge of terminologies, anatomy, medications and common medical procedures
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask while adhering to guidelines
- in Windows, Microsoft Word, and Outlook programs

- Reliable home internet
- A home workstation with a PC or laptop and at least two monitors
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience as a medical transcriptionist
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of working with medical transcription software or tool
- A diploma in medical transcription is a big advantage
