Fitness Consultant
Job Summary:
Fitness trainer consultant will be working with pesons with disabilities assigned by the residential provider. They will be responsible for coming up with routines based upon the persons needs and abilities. Fitness and Small Group Training shall be limited to fifty- two (52) hours per ISP year for people receiving host home, supported living, residential habilitiation or in-home supports services , or who otherwise have natural supports available that can assist the person practice the fitness skills they need to achieve their fitness goals Additional hours up to one hundred and four (104) hours per year may be authorized before the expiration of the ISP, year , and when the person's health and safety are at risk. Requests for additional hours may beapproved when accompanied by a physician's order or if the request passes by staff designated by DDS.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in personal training.
- Proficiency in physiology, body mechanics, program design, and sports coaching.
- Knowledge of anatomy and group fitness is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in physical education, health education, excercise, science or kinesiology; or recreational therapists.
- Relevant certifications in personal training or related fields are required.
-Certifications by preferred by the American Fitness Professionals and Associates, the National Athletic Training Association, National Academy of Sports Medicine, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, American College of Sports Medicine or any related entity.
Must have a recent physical, ppd or chest-xray and liability insurance.
Must be able to pass DDS minimum training curriculum.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $13.23 - $22.05 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 15 per week
