The Assistant Corporate Controller is responsible for assisting the VP, Tooling & Corporate Controller, the CFO and Site Finance personnel in preparing month-end closings and consolidations; account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, meeting corporate reporting requirements; training accounting personnel; ensuring accuracy of physical inventory; assisting with external audit and various other projects.
We are currently seeking a Assistant Corporate Controller, to work remotely or within one of our sites, with the following qualifications:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and improve accounting policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Integrate and improve a system of internal controls to ensure all accounting activities are properly maintained and reported correctly.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, gross profit analyses, and other financial reports.
- Work in conjunction with other accounting personnel and team members to ensure integrity of all financial activities and documentation.
- Oversee account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist month end close process by ensuring accounting personnel complete tasks timely and accurately and provide back-up as necessary.
- Maintain the General Ledger, making GL entries, and reconciling accounts as needed.
- Train site accounting personnel on policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
- Work with VP, Corporate Controller to plan, direct, oversee, research, and implement all accounting and financial related functions for the organization.
- Cross-train on duties of VP, Corporate Controller.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Advanced in Excel
- Proficient in use of ERP systems
- Five years progressively responsible managerial experience
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty
