We pride ourselves in being different…why should our job posting be any different
SEEKING: exceptional CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE creators to join our fast-paced and rapidly growing collaborative team.
Culture First!
Our people are our most valuable asset! We invest heavily in the hiring process to make sure we find awesome people who care about truly making a difference with each and every interaction, be that with our customers and our own employees! This is important because we not only want you to be great, but we want to make sure everyone you work with is great too.
Everything we do and how we operate centers around our Mission, Vision and Values. We strive to be a high-performing team and that starts with you…your outlook, attitude, and how you approach challenges and mistakes (simply opportunities to learn). Positivity is infectious and fun. If working in an environment where you will be challenged and those around you will be inspiring this is the place for you! If you want to start a career where you will be part of something special come check us out!
Job Duties:
1) You will be working with both our healthcare providers and patients to ensure we provide an exceptional “customer experience” not just customer service. We call it “WOW” service with the goal of EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS. We encourage going the extra mile to make the customers feel heard and to create that personal experience. No box-checking here!
2) We are a special kind of pharmacy that makes individualized medications for our patients. You will be trained to work as a Customer Experience creator and as a technician in the future.
3) We will support you to get licensed and become a pharmacy technician, so that you can advance in your career in the pharmacy profession, all without having to go to school! This can save you about 18K in tuition costs!
4) At Peninsula Compounding, we offer full-time hours (40 hours/week) and pride ourselves in offering a great work/life balance, medical, dental and vision insurance, an IRA with employer match, and paid flex time! We are a growth organization and are incentivized to exceed growth expectations with a generous bonus program allowing all to share in the success of Peninsula Compounding.
What will you do in this role?
You are critical to the operation of our pharmacy. You will be helping all of our customers in many different respects as well as doing data entry of payment information for customers, helping with inventory and taking special orders, making customer medications in a lab setting, working in the mail room to process mail and preparing deliveries, and talking to patients on the phone to let them know their orders are ready or verifying information about their order. You might even be tasked with de-escalating a disgruntled customer rarely…we love these opportunities; it provides a platform for us to shine. You can be the star…listen, ask what it would take to make things right, and turn a challenging situation into an opportunity to create a true customer by going above and beyond to show Peninsula Compounding truly cares about what matters most to its patients.
What are the advancement opportunities?
This career (not a job) is a great way to start a profession as a pharmacy technician. If you have ever been curious about working in this industry or have wanted to change directions and try something new, this is a great opportunity for you. Over the past several years we have invested heavily in training our team and promoted from within.
What is the path to becoming a Pharmacy Technician?
We do not require you to attend a school prior to training to become a tech, so going this route saves you about $18k+ in tuition, plus you are paid while you are being trained. We enroll you in an online program that will help you learn and grow into a licensed pharmacy technician. We'll help you with each step!
Our company's success is your success! In addition to paying for the traing required to become a technician, we offer bonus pay when growth targets are achieved. In 2023, most technicians received an end-of-year bonus that equated to an additional $2/hour
Is this a part-time or full-time position?
We offer flexible scheduling and will hire for a full-time position, 40 hours a week, or part-time.
What can you tell me about the company?
Peninsula Compounding is a rapidly growing organization. We pride ourselves in being seen as an invaluable member of the provider’s clinical team as well as providing a game-changing service to patients at affordable prices. Peninsula Compounding Pharmacy is family-owned and takes immense pride in helping our patients. Our pharmacy is not like any other pharmacy you've ever used. We are a compounding pharmacy that makes medications by hand to meet the specific needs of each patient.
Do you need to have any pharmacy experience?
Nope! We will teach you everything you need to know about pharmacy in order to be successful in the job.
Our company will enroll you in an online training course and guide you through the steps it takes to become a licensed pharmacy technician. We will invest in you and support you through your journey towards a new and fulfilling career.
This would be an excellent position for someone with experience as a barista, grocery store clerk, restaurant waiter or server, or cashier with a passion for making a difference. If customer service is your wheelhouse this is a great position for you. This is also a great position for someone who is looking for a career change or for someone interested in learning about a new industry.
If you love going above and beyond to make customers smile and/or exceed their expectations this is the perfect position for you. We don’t want folks who look to just check the box…we are solution-orientated, passionate and fun team members looking for the same!
Will I stand a lot?
Yes! There is lots of standing and moving stuff around for this job. If this is not something you enjoy doing, or if you don't like standing for most of the day, this is probably not the best fit for you.
