Essential Functions:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the part time Residential Aide works with other team members to provide assistance with clinical and crisis intervention activities. The incumbent also provides case management services and referrals to clients during treatment and post discharge.
Part Time Opening
Residential Aide Responsibilities:
- Assure participants are resting well, 3 rounds a night.
- Provide crisis intervention and make appropriate referrals; based on individual participants’ needs.
- Make consultations over the phone with immediate supervisor as needed in order to maintain safety of the Residents.
- Supervise participants’ morning activities and serve as a positive role model for participants.
- Dispense of morning medications and cigarettes, strictly adhering to program protocols regarding documenting medication entries in the logs.
- Document all shift activities on a daily basis.
- Comply with agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in agency and regular staff team meetings.
- Participate in agency fund-raising efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, or program administrator.
- Perform Toxicology urinalysis samples.
- Drive participants to all their case management appointments in the community.
Residential Aide Qualifications/ Skills:
- Possession of a valid Illinois driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle in course of employment.
- Have basic knowledge of the disease concept of alcoholism and substance abuse.
- Basic knowledge of computer keyboard preferred.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Bicultural preferred.
- Ability to work flexible shifts as needed – due to Residence operating 24 hours a day, year round.
- H.A.S. requires all staff to work onsite.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or its equivalence.
- Experience of one (1) year in the substance abuse field, mental health or counseling field is preferred.
- Valid CRSS or CPRS Credentials preferred.
- Valid Food Sanitation Certification is preferred.
