What you will be doing:
The position will perform various system administrator duties related to the implementation, maintenance, and operations of the division's databases. This position will provide technical support to database users, manage user accounts, monitor database performance, and test and configure database updates. The position will respond to inquiries related to state, federal, and legislative reporting purposes and develop ad hoc and standard reports using Structured Query Language (SQL). The position will perform activities supporting the day-to-day operations of the Research and Analysis Unit by ensuring that the division's systems can meet current and future needs. This will require a thorough understanding and coordination of the division's programmatic needs, contractor capabilities, and state IT resources.
Our organization, mission, and culture:
The Research and Analysis Unit provides information, research, and analysis products to state and national stakeholders. The unit specializes in business process development and diagramming, data maintenance, statistical analysis, report writing and publishing, account management for Harmony (the division’s database), and training associated with the use of the division's data systems and processes. As an IT liaison, the unit advises the division on technical developments and collaborates with Enterprise Technology Services on various projects.

The position is located in Anchorage, Alaska. Currently, Division staff have access to a hybrid telework schedule. Applicant will work from the office until their hybrid telework request is approved which involves at least one day a week in the Anchorage office.
