Ensure safe, timely, installation and repair of propane tanks and gas systems at the customer site and to maintain happy, and loyal customers for Heart of Texas Propane.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Propane Technician will conduct tank and gas system installations and modifications, system safety checks and ensure customer safety, following standards set forth by the Railroad Commission and this company. The Technician will be responsible for working closely with the supervisor to include sourcing and ordering appropriate parts and equipment as needed. As a part of this work, the Technician will need to complete and submit relevant paperwork and log their schedules daily.
Duties include:
· Installing Propane tanks and gas systems
· Servicing Propane tanks and gas systems
· Learn and execute safe LPG practices, ensuring safe customer systems
· Conduct leak checks, pressure tests and basic troubleshooting at customer homes
· Light pilots
· Appliance conversions as applicable
· Sourcing and ordering appropriate parts as required
· Occasional backup Propane driver as determined by business needs
· Learn and perform basic equipment maintenance and report to Supervisor
· Operate crane truck to move and set tanks
Other fill-in duties may include:
· Office duties as necessary, answering phones, performing customer sales role
· Fill bottles
Qualifications & Licenses
Qualifications include:
· Customer service oriented
· Proficient in reading and writing
Education & Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED
· 3-5 years of Propane Install and Maintenance experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications preferred but not required (will train for certifications)
- Railroad Commission (RRC) certification for Service & Install

Other Requirements:
· Pre-employment drug test

Working Conditions
The job requires some evening and weekend work, working outdoors during inclement weather, and working with hazardous materials.
Physical Requirements
Employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, and do repetitive tasks with few breaks. Demanding physical labor to include but not limited to digging ditches and holes with hand tools, using trenching machines and operating a skid steer. Some 24/7 response is required on rare occasions when customer emergency calls come in.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
