Description:
This position is responsible for operating the laser, PUR, EVA IMA Edgebander machine using job specific cut sheets that outline product specifications with detailed customer’s guidelines. The edgeband operator must show leadership in operating the machine and ensure quality product is produced effectively and efficiently. They also clean and maintain machinery based on a maintenance schedule. It is the operator's responsibility to update the status of jobs in progress and completed by using the company’s shop floor management software and notify the operations manager of any issues. It is their responsibility to work with other team members on various machines to keep up with the production schedule. All machine operators will be cross trained to operate multiple machines. It is essential that the operator has high attention to detail, critical thinking capabilities and is technologically skilled.
Requirements:Job Functions:
- Read and thoroughly understand the Job Cut Sheet before starting each job
- Modify machine speed, tooling, and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts
- Set up machine (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start production cycle.
- Control an adjust machine settings to ensure maximum product quality
- Ability to speak with machinery technicians to solve problems
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
- Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold the company's reputation
- Ability to move in a fast pace environment while adhering to customer quality and specification guidelines
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning, and tool replacement.
- Knowledge of how to read and understand measurement tools (tape measure, micrometer)
- Maintain quality and safety standards.
- Organize and maintain cleanliness in the workplace at all times
- Record keeping of job information.

- Understands how to prioritize and interpret production schedules.
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Good communication skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 year minimum experience working on any type of edge band machinery
- Cabinetry Experience preferred
- Math skills: will need to understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions and decimals
- Ability to work repetitive movements and standing for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and slide products weighing 50 - 100 lbs.
- English is preferred
