We are seeking a positive and professional Host staff to join our Skillet Post Alley location. The right candidates will be able to multi-task, have excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to excel on a team. We are a high volume, fast paced, brunch focused diner. Sections are up to 10 ten tables, sometimes more with outdoor seating. Restaurant experience preferred, but not required. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and PM availability is required.
Expo plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth flow of service and maintaining high food quality standards in a restaurant setting.
Job Duties Include:
- Ensure all food orders are prepared and plated correctly before they are served to guests.
- Coordinate the timing of food preparation with the kitchen team to ensure that all dishes for a table are ready at the same time.
- Check each dish for accuracy, presentation, and temperature before it leaves the kitchen.
- Communicate with servers to ensure that each table's orders are complete and ready for service.
- Organize and garnish dishes before they are sent out to guests.
- Manage special requests, dietary restrictions, and modifications to orders.
- Monitor food quality and ensuring that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards.
- Assist with expediting takeout and delivery orders.
- Collaborate with kitchen and front of house staff to maintain efficient operations.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Handling guest inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints.
- Collaborating with other front of house staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment

Skills:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or bar setting
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and health regulations
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive experience for guests
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of standing and walking most of your shifts for up to eight hours
- Capable of lifting up to 40lbs regularly such as boxes of champagne and plates
- Regularly be able to crouch, bend, kneel.
- Able to read and comprehend English both written and verbally
- Able to operate smaller screen, hand held computers to enter orders at the tableside
Compensation is $22.00 to $28.00 per hour including tips.
