Cora Health is a new telehealth platform for US-based Latinos. Our goal is to provide affordable and culturally competent weight loss care with a personalized approach and interdisciplinary support. We offer virtual weight loss consultations and prescriptions, as well as other virtual primary care services to underserved Latinos/Hispanics in the US. Cora Health is seeking a Spanish-speaking Nutritionist to join our growing team.
Exact hours are to be determined, but Nutritionists must be available to work between normal daytime hours. We are looking to start with 8-12 hours per week and soon after increase to 20+ hours per week. Those hours will usually fall between 7am and 3pm EST M-F with some potential weekend hours, if desired. The candidate needs to be able to commit a minimum of 8 hours per week. This is an hourly contract position and fully remote.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree with major studies in Food and Nutrition or related fields
- Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Health Services Administration, Health Promotion, Health Education, or a related field; or its equivalent.
- At least five (5) years of experience as a Nutritionist or licensed health coach in the state of employment, counseling patients 1:1 on weight management.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Availability to work 10-20 clinical hours per week.
- Comfort with technology and ability to navigate different tools (EMR, Calendly, Gmail).
- Telemedicine or virtual care experience highly preferred.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative environment and comfortable with a new startup environment.
- Current certification as an instructor in one or more of the following health coaching disciplines is highly preferred: AAB, ASHAC, ACN, American Heart Association, American College of Sports Medicine, American College of Occupational Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Applied Behavior Analysis, Child Life Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Education and Developmental Psychology, Food Protection and Safety, Health Education and Prevention (HPE), Occupational Therapy (LPC), or Rehabilitation Psychology.
The responsibilities of the position include:
- Conduct initial intake evaluation video visits (30+ minutes) with new patients (ages 18+).
- Provide holistic assessment of patients goals, needs and challenges (inclusive of history with food, eating, exercising and lifestyle habits, shopping, cooking and ordering preferences, among others).
- Design personalized Nutrition plans.
- Conduct virtual appointments every 15 days for progress assessment and adjustments of the personalized Nutrition plans.
- Collaborate closely with Clinitians and Health Coaches to align on holistic treatment plans.
- Work with a diverse population to build trusting relationships based on empathy and support.
- Log into EHR portal every 24 hours to check on requests.
- Conduct asynchronous chat responses to patient questions.
- Serve as an ambassador of Cora’s unique care model, providing culturally humble care and championing our belief that better outcomes for people struggling with weight management are achievable through holistic, interdisciplinary support.
Benefits:
